What will be discussed
We are focusing on: Solutions to the growing crisis: how do we improve literacy in Leeds?
Our discussion will be wide-reaching. We will be covering oracy, reading for pleasure (and where it falls short), what a coherent literacy strategy looks like and how we can prepare learners to be critical readers in a world of increasing disinformation and complexity.
Agenda
The event will run as follows:
- 5:30pm-6:15pm: arrival, drinks & networking
- 6:15pm-7:15pm: discussion (part 1)
- 7:15pm-7:30pm: break (and food)
- 7:30pm-8:20pm: discussion (part 2)
- 8:20pm-8:30pm: departure
This is a completely free event designed to drive forward literacy strategies in England. The discussions will contribute to a best practice whitepaper for all schools.
