Be the change-maker your school needs. We’re thrilled to relaunch the Literacy Leaders Programme, a completely free digital CPD course designed to equip educators across England with the tools, insights and confidence to lead literacy in their setting.

What is the Literacy Leaders Programme?

Run by the Transforming Education Alliance in partnership with CPD UK, this 4-week course gives you everything you need to become your school’s literacy expert – improving outcomes, raising attainment and leading real, evidence-informed change.

This time we're running two courses - one stream designed for Literacy Coordinators, HoDs and teachers; and a new stream for members of SLT. And it’s all available 100% free, with self-paced online content and live expert support.

The course kicks off on Tuesday 3rd November.

How it works

Online | Flexible | Self-directed (7-10 hours of learning)

  • Kick off with a live virtual onboarding event to meet your tutors and hear what’s ahead
  • Complete 8 pre-recorded lessons (around 30 minutes each), at your own pace
  • Work through your literacy reflection pack to apply your learning in context
  • Submit your reflection to receive your certificate and join the awards ceremony

  • Throughout November: Self-directed learning and reflection
  • Tuesday 10th November, 4:00-4:45pm GMT: Interactive live session 1
  • Tuesday 17th November, 4:00-4:45pm GMT: Interactive live session 2
  • Tuesday 24th November, 4:00-4:45pm GMT: Interactive live session 3
  • Tuesday 1st December, 12:00pm GMT: Submit your literacy reflection pack to receive your Literacy Leaders CPD Certificate and course resources
  • Tuesday 1st December, 4:00-4:45pm GMT: End of course event & literacy leadership session
