We are thrilled to have been shortlisted in two categories at this year's MAT Excellence Awards - Company of the Year and Trust Collaboration.

The MAT Excellence Awards celebrate the achievements of multi-academy trusts; recognising their impact on pupils, staff and the community. For the first time in 2024, the awards have expanded to recognise the industry partners and EdTech resources that partner with multi-academy trusts in their joint missions. Winners will be announced at a ceremony in late June.

How has Bedrock been recognised?

Bedrock Learning has been shortlisted for two awards. Firstly in the Company of the Year category, recognising Bedrock's ongoing partnerships with many multi-academy trusts across the country, and the impact on outcomes seen across our partner MATs.

Secondly, we are thrilled to have been shortlisted in the Trust Collaboration category, recognising Bedrock's ongoing partnership with the Harris Federation.

Bedrock’s collaboration with the Harris Federation began with an initial pilot with a single class of Year 9 learners in 2016 and has since grown rapidly in both scale and scope - now encompassing all curriculum subjects – with all 32 secondary schools across the multi-academy trust, and a weekly average of 16k learners, accessing Bedrock content. A major study of impact data at the end of the 2023 academic year found that 41% of learners across the Harris Federation were performing above expected levels of usage and progress.

A word from the Bedrock and Harris Federation teams...

"We started Bedrock to have a transformative impact outcomes for young people, and genuinely prepare our next generation for the world they will enter into. Through that journey we've realised the ultimate educational challenge in teaching over 600,000 children to date. I'm proud of our partnerships with many, many multi-academy trusts across the country, and how Bedrock's impact is multiplied when truly embedded across a whole trust. To have one of our partnerships recognised in this way, alongside the truly awe-inspiring team at the Harris Federation, is immensely gratifiying."

Aaron Leary, Founder and CEO

"We're a team of educators and Bedrock for us is a true labour of love. For that work to be recognised feels great! Everyday our whole team is driven by the sole purpose of transforming outcomes for the young people that use our platform. We believe in the power of language to enable learning and we believe in Bedrock. We've got so much waiting in the wings as well, I can't wait to see what the future holds for Team Bedrock and the schools we work with."

Olivia Sumpter, Director of Education at Bedrock Learning

"Literacy is a core principle of everything that we do at Harris Federation. Our mission, which is very much part of our values and vision, is to make sure that every single child is an eloquent speaker, reader, writer and listener. In order for them to go out into the world, no matter what they do, no matter what career they go into, they will need to be able to speak eloquently and with confidence. That’s why our collaboration with Bedrock is so important."
